How can i market my new Hair and Makeup business?

I'm developing a new business where i will be doing mainly bridal parties hair and makeup. My main goal is to get clients from all over australia to want me, and hopefully one day get people wanting me from overseas! How can i market myself other then businesscards and website etc. How can i get people to say- i want her! I want this to lead to higher career opportunities like major runway events and stuff like that. i have the confidence in my work to get to this stage but how can i show other people that? Does anyone know of anyone needing a fantastic hair and makeup artist?? i need contacts to build up my portfolio!How can i market my new Hair and Makeup business?

Cross marketing can be very powerful. Bridal shops, photographers, image consultants, hair salons, spas, workout facilities, college dorms, small boutiques, cosmetic plastic surgeon offices...these are great businesses and locations to offer your services to-- and discount your services initally so that you incentivize them to work with you.





Remember you have to start somewhere and you need a portfolio. So start close by---close to home with shops and vendors and facilities in your area.





Ask friends and family to help spread the word. When you finally find a client to work with that raves about your services, ask for referrals--- take photos of your work ALWAYS--





Build your image portfolio





WEBSITE marketing is a great way to reach your market---and of course your biz card---I know you already know about these 2 items BUT it's in the way you use them that counts---





Go to seminars for small businesses that are similar to what you are involved in ';Beauty---hair and make-up';





See which movies are being produced in your area-- offer to work with them as a personal assistant---





Also-- see if there is a similar group like the Learning Annex in your area that offers courses-- to improve your business marketing skills.

As to how to get into the CELEBRITY circle-- get the press behind you-- how--- start writing articles on the internet about who you are and why you are different and or great-- the internet can connect you to the free press and the more you are in the press the sooner you will be exposed to those in the celebrity world--





If you were able to travel--going (short term) to the areas where celebrities are in your country is the quickest way to the top--- but be sure you have your portfolio ready and you are experienced and can deliver what you say and believe about your talent--Have fun with it!!! Tie up with a bridal dressshop and give some incentives to them, so that every bride-to-be had their gown made will be encourage to try your hair and makeup.
Have you had your makeup tested to make sure it won't harm the skin? The easiest way to market is via the internet, word of mouth, and advertising. I'm not sure where you live but it might be more difficult to get ppl from overseas and austrailia. If you could get a hold of a modeling agency that might be the best start and lead you to more productivity such as moving further up like how Tyra Banks has America's Next Top Model and she has ppl hired to do the makeup, photography, etc... I'm not sure if that is something your interested in.
