I want to get that whole 50s pinup look but dont really know where to start. hair, makeup, clothing, etc. help?

my hair right now is black with fusia pink highlights and i have bangs i kinda look like lily allen. I am open to any advice and if you know a link or something that can help me out id appreciate that also!

definitely get rid of the fuschia highlights. focus the bright colors on the lips. everything is matte. black hair and bangs is great. lots of eyeliner on the top lid. and, long eyelashes. as for clothes, nautical and red work.I want to get that whole 50s pinup look but dont really know where to start. hair, makeup, clothing, etc. help?

first of all, a big thing then was the red lipstick. you can get red lipstick almost any where. a tip is, dont fill in your top lip entirely. go around the outline until you come to the dip in your lip, and there, go really deep with the dip, leaving a little lip without lipstick. if done right, it should look really good.


Another really big thing then was the curly-teased hair. you can get that look just by using a hair-curler or velcro curlers to get the curls and then running your hands through that.


As for eye makeup, just a simple dark brown on the lids is typical (but go crazy, do whatever you want with the color), and curling your eyelashes and putting mascara on was also big. And then of color, the heavy dark eyeliner


Other staples of the 40s and 50s are the loooong fake nails in bright colors (pink, red, ect), the high, tweezed thin eyebrows, bright pink rouge on the apples of your cheeks, but those are all your choices.





Clothing is something different. There were the short shirts, then there were the cropped jackets, and of course there are the Marilyn Monroe styles, and the heels.

You are already half way there with the bands, though you need to dye your pink highlights out.





You just need red lip stick, and black eye liner. And powder foundation. that's just about it really.

Look up Betty Page. She was like a legendary pin up of the 40s/50s. Many modern day pin up(Or rockabilly.) take inspiration from her.
well having pink highlights doesnt represent 50's at all.
